Northern Ireland boasts some excellent parkland courses, the pick of which would include Belvoir Park Golf Course. Definitely one of the finest parkland courses in Ulster.
Situated just two miles from Belfast City Centre, this is one of Ireland’s best kept golfing secrets.
Belvoir Park Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course in South Belfast County Down, Northern Ireland, and generally considered the best parkland course in Northern Ireland. The course has eighteen holes with a par of 71. The golf club was founded in 1927 and was designed by the famous golf course architect Harry Colt. Northern Ireland golfers are very fortunate to enjoy several fine examples of the esteemed H.S. Colt’s talents for course design with Belvoir Park considered one of the best.
Many famous golfers such as Peter Allis, Fred Daly, Rory McIlroy and the world renowned golf writer Peter Dobereiner, have rated Belvoir Park as one of the best inland courses in Ireland, if not the British Isles.

When asked …”what are your favourite links and parkland courses in Northern Ireland, excluding Holywood, Lough Erne, Portrush and Royal County Down?” Rory McIlroy replied…
Now then courses – I think the best parkland would be Belvoir Park and the links would be Ardglass.

The great pity is that the vast majority of golfers visiting Belfast in Northern Ireland make a beeline for the coast to play links golf without ever giving a thought to the pleasure of playing such a stunning parkland track like Belvoir Park. The lush fairways, meandering streams, wonderful bunkering and super putting surfaces make Belvoir Park a delight to play. The quality of the general landscape is such that it really deserves to be on any serious golfer’s Belfast itinerary.
