A Victorian walled garden, located behind the Manor House in Moneymore, forms the location of the 1622 Model Village and a special place to visit in Co Londonderry. It depicts the buildings and life in rural Moneymore at the time of the 17th Century plantation.
At 1/12 scale, the layout is based on a map prepared by Sir Thomas Phillips in 1622 illustrating the Manor House, six stone houses, seven timber houses, a mill and ten thatched cabins. As in 1622, the model buildings are placed along two intersecting streets with a market cross and stocks at the centre.
