Kilronan Castle, previously known as Castle Tenison, is a large country house standing in 40 acres of parkland on the shore of Lough Meelagh in County Roscommon. As is common with castles in Ireland, the building passed through the hands of a number of owners in the 17^th and 18^th Centuries.  It is one of a few Irish castle estates that can trace its history back to royal families.  It remained empty for the bulk of the 20^th Century, before being bought by the Hanly Group in 2006 and refurbished as fine castle hotel in Roscommon.
