Bloomvale House is the home of the award-winning Ballydougan Pottery, Gift Shop, Restaurant & Coffee Shop, and Pottery Workshop. Not only a great place to visit on your tour of County Armagh it is also a Historic House in Northern Ireland.
This historic grade 2 thatched house, originally a linen merchants home, was built in 1785 and has been associated with the craft industries since then. Ballydougan Pottery relocated to Bloomvale House in 1996 and since then the tradition of excellence has been carried on by a team of highly skilled Potters.
In the workshop each piece of pottery is thrown and decorated by skilled hands to produce a comprehensive range of kitchenware and giftware items. Each piece is designed to be used and enjoyed and is as strong and reliable as it is beautiful.
Be inspired by the Ballydougan experience and make a pot yourself in the Pottery Workshop or maybe organize a group of friends to get together for a Pottery session. Group demonstrations are available & classes to suit individual requirements (reservation required).
At Bloomvale, take time to meander through the historic 18th Century Gift Shop where the full range of Ballydougan Pottery and other quality Gifts are on display. The Restaurant & Coffee Shop offer a great place to eat and drink in Co Armagh where you can enjoy fine Ulster cooking at its best – freshly prepared in the kitchens using the finest local produce. Breakfast, Morning Coffee, Lunch and Traditional Afternoon Tea are served daily Monday – Saturday 9.00am – 5.00pm. Group visits, Family Celebrations and Weddings are a speciality.
